Welcome to theYear 9 Home Page
Year 9 marks the end of Key Stage 3 and the foundations for your GCSE studies need to be in place before July.
Regular attendance has never been so important to maximise progress and learning before you embark on your GCSE studies in Year 10 - every
skill that you can master now is one hurdle fewer to worry about whenthe pressure is really on. During the year, you will decide some of the subjects you will be studying at Key Stage 4. These decisions about your future Pathway can seem both exciting and scary; after all, you have never had any choice at all in what you study until now and once you have chosen your Pathway you will be expected to see it through.
The PCRE department, your subject teachers and your tutor will give you lots of guidance to get these important choices right, and talking to
parents and other family members and friends is also vital. You should aim to follow as broad and balanced a curriculum as possible to give
you as many opportunities as possible in the future - none of actually knows what we will be doing in ten years' time, after all. Enjoy the
opportunities Year 9 brings and feel proud of yourself in overcoming the obstacles with which you will be faced.
